Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide round-the-clock patient care in ICU, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment of critically ill patients.
  • Perform emergency procedures (intubation, central line insertion, arterial line, tracheostomy assistance, ventilator management, etc.).
  • Participate in daily ICU rounds and multidisciplinary discussions with consultants and treating teams.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality protocols in the ICU.
  • Manage and supervise nursing staff, residents, and technicians in critical care settings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records in compliance with hospital and medico-legal standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patient families regarding condition updates, prognosis, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in academic sessions, CMEs, training programs, and research activities of the department.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and accreditation requirements (NABH/NABL/JCI, as applicable).
  • Provide on-call and emergency support as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Senior Resident (Critical Care):

  • MD/DNB in Anaesthesia / Pulmonary Medicine / General Medicine OR equivalent.
  • Freshly passed or up to 12 years' experience in ICU/critical care.

Attending (Critical Care):

  • MD/DNB with 2–4 years' experience in ICU/critical care.
  • Fellowship in Critical Care (preferred).

Associate Consultant (Critical Care):

  • MD/DNB with 5+ years' experience in ICU/critical care.
  • Fellowship/Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (preferred).
  • Experience in managing tertiary care ICU setups desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong clinical knowledge in critical care management.
  • Proficiency in life-saving procedures and ventilator management.
  • Ability to handle medical emergencies independently.
  • Team leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling ability.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous learning.
