BMC Discovery and CMDB Consultant

Key Responsibilities:

You are mainly responsible for the-

BMC Discovery

• Design, implement, and manage BMC Discovery solutions to discover, map, and maintain a complete inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software, and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and document business requirements, and translate them into effective BMC Discovery configurations.
• Perform data modelling and data normalization to ensure accurate and reliable discovery results.
• Develop and maintain TPL scripts for custom patterns and data collection.
• Configure and optimize BMC Discovery to collect and update information on a wide range of IT assets, such as cloud resources, virtual machines, and network devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve BMC Discovery-related issues, and implement enhancements to improve discovery efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintain and update BMC Discovery policies, patterns, and credentials to adapt to changes in the IT environment.
• Work with the security team to ensure that BMC Discovery is compliant with security standards and protocols.
• Keep up to date with BMC Discovery best practices and industry trends to provide recommendations for process improvements.

BMC CMDB

• Experienced with enterprise environments Asset lifecycle.
• Experienced with custom classes management and data set configurations.
• Deep experience in the Atrium Integrator spoon and complex jobs creation, tuning and maintenance.
• Create & Monitor Normalization and Reconciliation Jobs to ensure accuracy of data coming from different sources
• Use Remedy Smart Reports creating reports for Business consumption from CMDB.
• Develop SQL queries and reports for management on KPIs to improve the process effectiveness, efficiency, and data accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to deliver results in a timely manner
• Maintains CIs to ensure CMDB accuracy and completeness
• Implement BI reports, Dashboards based on the user requirements.
• Should be able to analyze the flashboard, Variables of Reporting.
• Having understanding of infra level design for visualization.

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree B.E./B Tech/ BCA
• BMC Discovery and CMDB certification is a plus.

Experience:

• 5-8 Years of experience with CMDB and Discovery is must, (BMC Helix Dashboard).
• Experience in ITSM administration, managing users, API integrations, and web service integration.
• Must have an experience with Postgres SQL and other database languages.
• Must be familiar with the reporting terms like Attributes, Filters, Joins and schema.
• Must have knowledge about the external data sources to import data into CMDB and manage based on precedence.
• Should have knowledge about different modules like CMDB/Asset, Incident, Work Order, Change and Problem.
• Must have experience with handing auto discovered and manually managed data
• Must have experience with managing CMDB data including duplicate and orphan CIs
• Must have experience with managing CMDB jobs likes reconciliation and normalization.

Desirables:

• Experience with service modeling.
• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and system architecture.
• Experience with spoon and AI jobs
• Experience with duplicates and orphan CIs troubleshooting

Essential:

• Understanding of CDM model.
• Very good knowledge about Joins, multi-query and calculated fields.
• Experience with Helpdesk Systems/Ticketing tools.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
