Job Profile

Purpose of Role:

This Global Data Analyst role in the Compliance department of the Global Financial Crimes Division will report to the GFCD Issues Management (“IM”) Operations Vice President, Compliance IM Analysis. The Global Data Analyst will support the Global and Regional IM Units to coordinate implementation and execution of the GFCD IM standard and procedures across Company’s global network, drive initiatives that promote on-time issues remediation, and support risk management activities related to the Bank’s global financial crimes policies, standards, and procedures

The qualified candidate will:

  • Gain familiarity with the financial crimes compliance framework, including the roles of Internal Audit and Compliance Testing.
  • Develop an understanding of global Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”), Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (“ABC”) regulatory regimes.
  • Develop subject matter expertise regarding Issues Management (“IM”)policy, standards, and procedures.
  • Develop partnerships with global and regional stakeholders to drive implementation of end-to-end GFCD Issues Management processes and procedures.
  • Support the IM Operations Analysis Team with analyzing data using advanced analytical reporting tools and assisting in the identification and execution of program and process enhancements.
  • Perform data analysis to drive actionable insights and key messaging to support program and process improvement initiatives across the Department and/ or functions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Advise on issues management requirements, working closely with Issue stakeholders (such as Regional Issue Coordinators, Issue Owners, Risk Managers, Action Owners, Compliance Testing, Internal Audit), and the Global and Regional IM Units.
  • Develop partnerships with stakeholders to drive implementation of end-to-end issues management processes and procedures across various geographical locations.
  • Manage issues data in the GFCD IM Database, including issue record data entry, review, update, and monitoring according to required timeframes and protocols.
  • Review and analyze data, examine data quality, determine process trends or systemic issues, deliver actionable recommendations, and drive necessary actions including escalations of risks.
  • Design and develop dashboards or story boards to communicate key findings.
  • Support maintenance activities for dashboards or story boards, as needed.
  • Connect to data sources and calculate metrics within the advanced reporting resource tools, including table calculations, level of detail calculations, and parameters.
  • Perform issue reporting activities and prepare reports.
  • Partner with Regional Issue Coordinators and Global IM Operations colleagues to drive process improvement opportunities across the Department and across functions.
  • Support IM Operations Analysis Team on special projects and ad-hoc assignments, as assigned.
  • Administer governance and operational routines with team members and stakeholders including meetings, communications, and reporting.
  • Lead or provide support on special projects and ad-hoc activities.

Candidate Profile:

Skills and knowledge

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Experience performing analysis with advanced proficiency in advanced reporting data management and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
  • Stay up to date on analytic software(e.g., Tableau) releases, and new analytics tools on the market.
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
  • Team-oriented approach to completing objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel is possible but limited.

Education & professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of business experience
  • 0-3 years of experience in Financial Services, preferably in Financial Crimes Compliance or Risk Management areas.
