In this role, you will oversee all aspects of indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including the U.S., Canada, and Australia. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate tax filings, maintaining system integrity, managing audits, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on tax professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving compliance efficiency through technology and collaboration. #LI-ND1 What You'll Do Oversee end-to-end indirect tax compliance for the U.S., Canada, and Australia, including sales, use, CAT, GST/HST/QST/PST/PPLT, and B&O taxes. Lead and manage the Sr. Transactional Tax Specialist I, including assigning responsibilities, reviewing deliverables, and supporting professional development. Research and provide nexus determinations, taxability analyses, and quantify potential indirect tax exposures. Maintain, update, and manage jurisdictional tax registrations as needed. Review, respond to, and resolve indirect tax notices from tax authorities. Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, ensuring accurate GL reconciliations. Coordinate and lead indirect tax audits and Voluntary Disclosure Agreements (VDAs). Develop and implement process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency and accuracy. Monitor indirect tax legislative and regulatory changes, ensuring timely updates to internal systems and procedures. Collaborate with Business Applications, Billing, and Accounting teams to ensure proper configuration of ERP tax settings and Avalara integrations. Review and resolve customer tax inquiries, including those related to invoices, exemption certificates, and tax forms. Maintain and monitor ERP tax tables to reflect accurate and current tax rates. Support acquisition integrations, ensuring indirect tax accounts are properly transitioned and closed. What You'll Bring Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multi-jurisdictional indirect tax compliance (U.S., Canada, and Australia), with at least 1 year in a managerial or lead capacity. Strong knowledge of product taxability, exemption/resale certificates, and tax licensing rules by jurisdiction. Hands-on experience with ERP and tax automation systems (NetSuite and Avalara preferred). Proven ability to manage audits, registrations, and tax filings across multiple regions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities. Flexibility to collaborate across time zones, particularly with U.S.-based teams. Preferred: CPA or equivalent professional certification. Experience in SaaS or digital product taxability. Proven success in implementing tax automation tools and driving process improvements. Advanced proficiency in Excel or similar analytical/reporting tools.
