We are looking for a visionary leader to guide our hardware engineering teams as we solve some of the most critical challenges in medicine.We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Software Engineering to lead our multi-functional software teams to deliver high quality software. In this pivotal role, you will use your technical judgment, experience, and knowledge to build the vision, execution strategy, architecture, and lead teams from concept to deployment and post launch support. The role expands the strategic and executional alignment within engineering and across cross functional groups for a successful delivery of the Software projects.This position is a leadership role part of the Software Engineering within Global R&D and will be located at Bangalore, India.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Define and align business cases and product requirements for GX Product Software in collaboration with cross-functional engineering and product teamsLead end-to-end development of GX instrument software applications using Agile and Lean methodologies, ensuring release milestones are met with validated deliverablesEstablish, document, and maintain SOPs, compliance processes, and execution models aligned with FDA, ISO, and IEC 62304 standards for regulated software developmentDrive resource planning and capacity management by recruiting and retaining technical talent with proficiency in embedded systems, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelinesImplement engineering excellence frameworks using Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, ensuring measurable improvements in software quality and operational efficiencyDirect integration of GX Product Software features with internal and external systems including ERP (SAP/Oracle), LIMS, and ELN platforms to ensure interoperability and complianceOversee execution of data-driven product improvements by applying customer feedback, defect metrics, and performance analytics to software design and release cyclesThe essential requirements of the job include:Minimum 15 years of software development experience including embedded, application, and cloud technologies; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field requiredMinimum 4 years of direct managerial experience leading software and technical engineering teams in a regulated industryProven track record of delivering software products for medical instruments within FDA, ISO, or equivalent regulatory frameworksDemonstrated proficiency in driving cross-functional collaboration across global teams to execute software application roadmapsExperience applying customer feedback to improve product design and software functionality in commercial or clinical environmentsLed structured improvement initiatives using DBS or similar operational excellence frameworks to enhance software development outcomesOversaw large-scale software programs with measurable performance metrics, including team productivity, delivery timelines, and compliance adherenceIt would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Customer-first and results-oriented mindset and the ability to make practical decisions when making engineering choices.Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate complex corporate environments and influence stakeholders and partners.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical problems to non-technical audiences.Join our winning team today.
