Job Summary:We are seeking a talented and creative 3D Lighting Artist with expertise in Maya to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and a passion for bringing scenes to life through lighting. You will be responsible for creating visually stunning and atmospherically rich lighting setups for our animations and visual effects projects. Your work will play a crucial role in defining the mood and enhancing the storytelling of our productions.Key Responsibilities:Lighting Design:

Develop and implement lighting strategies for various scenes, ensuring they align with the artistic direction and narrative of the project.Scene Preparation:

Set up and optimize lighting rigs in Autodesk Maya, taking into account factors such as shadows, reflections, and ambient light.Rendering:

Work closely with the rendering team to ensure that lighting setups are optimized for efficient rendering without compromising on quality.Color and Mood Adjustment:

Adjust lighting and color grading to achieve the desired mood and tone of scenes, ensuring consistency throughout the project.Technical Integration:

Collaborate with other departments (such as Modeling, Texturing, and Compositing) to integrate lighting into the overall production pipeline.Problem Solving:

Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to lighting and rendering, ensuring timely project delivery.Quality Control:

Review and refine lighting work based on feedback from directors and supervisors, maintaining high standards of visual quality.Documentation and Best Practices:

Document lighting techniques and create best practice guides to improve team efficiency and consistency.Software Mastery:

Stay updated with the latest features and updates in Maya and other relevant software, incorporating new techniques into your workflow.Required Skills and Qualifications:Proficiency in Autodesk Maya:

Extensive experience with Maya's lighting and rendering tools, including Arnold, or other rendering engines.Strong Artistic Sense:

Excellent understanding of light, color, and composition with the ability to translate these into compelling visual narratives.Technical Skills:

Solid understanding of the technical aspects of 3D lighting, including ray tracing, global illumination, and shader development.Problem-Solving Abilities:

Ability to troubleshoot complex lighting setups and rendering issues.Attention to Detail:

Keen eye for detail, ensuring that all aspects of the lighting align perfectly with the project’s vision.Communication and Collaboration:

Strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to work closely with directors, artists, and other departments.Portfolio:

A strong portfolio demonstrating your lighting work in previous projects.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:Experience with Other Software:

Knowledge of other 3D software such as Houdini, Blender, or Unreal Engine is a plus.Compositing Skills:

Basic skills in compositing software like After Effects to understand the integration of lighting passes.Animation Industry Experience:

Previous experience in animation or VFX studios is highly desirable.Continuous Learning:

Eagerness to learn and adapt to new lighting techniques and technologies.Education:Bachelor's degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
