As an DBA you would be required to have:

  • Expertise in RDBMS(MySql, PostgreSQL), NoSQL(documentDB/MongoDB) database administration on AWS.
  • Ensure best practices of database access and security.
  • Experience on Database migration tasks using AWS DMS/backups/restoration.
  • Eager to learn new technologies, tools and collaborate with the SRE team on database automation.
  • Expertise monitoring Database performance metrics using PMM, AWS RDS console,performance insights and cloudwatch and proactively identify and address/troubleshoot potential issues.
  • Have hands-on experience in planning and implementing database activities with no/minimal downtime.
  • Exposure to handle high workload OLTP databases.
  • Work closely with the development team to derive database solutioning.
  • Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL and database scripting languages.
  • Good understanding of different file formats like xml, yml, json, parquet.
  • Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, performance analysis, and system tuning in AWS.
  • Exposure writing runbooks adequately and turn repeatable actions into automation.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Gitlab, terraform and other development tools is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 6 years of industry experience
  • Exposure on AWS DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Redshift, DMS, CloudWatch
  • Interested to learn DevOps on AWS
