Position Overview

Location: Chennai (Oragadam)

Position Title: Resource - Safety

Reports to: Manager - Safety

Function: Production - Safety


What you’ll do:

  • To advise the concerned line managers in planning and organizing Safety control measures necessary for the effective control of personal injuries.
  • To check, authorise and record the permit to work document for each job.
  • To assist in preparing Standard operating procedures for all the routine activities being carried out inside.
  • To conduct Mock drills and safety skits.
  • To conduct daily audits and inspections with respect to Safety & Fire observations.
  • To prepare checklists for each equipment, tools & tackles after physical verification at site prior starting each job.
  • To prepare site risk assessment as per requirement.
  • To ensure the implementation of contractor safety management
  • Reporting of near misses, Dangerous Occurrences, HIPO Violation and investigate the same.
  • Skill Assessment of Contractor Workforce.
  • To check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent personal injuries.
  • To carry out Safety inspections in order to observe the physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by workers and to render advice on measures to be adopted for removing the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions by workers.
  • To render advice on matters relating to reporting and investigation of any Incidents within the campus.
  • To promote the setting up of Safety committees and meetings periodically with the management and contractor representatives.
  • To organize in association with the concerned, Safety campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedure.
  • To design and conduct suitable training and educational programs for the prevention of any incidents and promote safety.
  • Statutory Compliance - Ensuring periodical examination of Lifting Tools & Tackles, Pressure Vessels.


What you'll bring:


Experience: You atleast have 6 to 8 years of experience in safety


Qualification: M.E in Industrial Safety Engineering or Regional Labour Institutes


Skills: You should have a strong background in safety, planning and organizing Safety control measures, Mock drills, risk assessment, statutory compliance, conducting training and educational programs, Safety campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities


We’d love it if you also have these: ISO 45001 and any other safety certificates.
