Job Description :

Tekodyne is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our robotics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development and testing of complex mechanical systems for our cutting-edge robotic solutions, with a focus on creating great, intuitive, and innovative designs. This is an on-site position in Hyderabad, with a requirement for some amount of travel.

Qualification :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Experience :


• Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in mechanical design


• Must have experience working with robotic systems.


• Proven experience in the robotics, automation, or mechatronics industries.

Key Responsibilities :


•⁠ ⁠Lead the mechanical design of new robotic products, subsystems and components from concept to production.


•⁠ ⁠Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or Onshape) to create and refine 3D models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.


•⁠ ⁠Conduct engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate design performance, reliability, and durability.


•⁠ ⁠Develop and execute test plans for prototypes to ensure they meet performance, safety and manufacturability requirements.


•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical and control systems.


•⁠ ⁠Manage the selection and procurement of materials, components and external vendors.


•⁠ ⁠Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues throughout the product lifecycle.


•⁠ ⁠Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Technical Skills :


•⁠ ⁠Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks is highly preferred).


•⁠ ⁠Strong knowledge of Design for manufacturability (DFM) and Design for assembly (DFA).


•⁠ ⁠Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T).


•⁠ ⁠Proven experience with a variety of manufacturing processes, such as 3D printing, CNC machining, injection molding and sheet metal fabrication.


•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with motion control, servo systems and actuator design.


•⁠ ⁠Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics and control systems related to robotics.


•⁠ ⁠Experience with safety standards (e.g., ANSI R15.06) is a plus.

•⁠ ⁠Demonstrated ability to create great and intuitive mechanical designs.


•⁠ ⁠Strong written and verbal communication skills.
