We’re looking for a self-motivated In-House Employment Legal specialist. This critical position will be primarily responsible for the effective and efficient management of a legal department’s resources, systems, and initiatives. This legal professional will serve as a trusted employment advisor to the Senior Management, engaging with a wide array of internal and external constituents as a representative of the Legal Department.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manage employee issues from legal perspective relating to non-performance, misconduct, employees with health issues, behavioral issues, grievances, harassment cases including sexual harassment etc.- Manage end to end litigation regarding employee dispute, dispute by vendor employee/s, Misc. cases like disbursal of death benefits in case of family dispute, claim by third party, witness summons, warrant etc.- Managing highly sensitive and delicate issues involving behavioral threat assessment and management.- Draft responses to claim, complaint and request by quasi-judicial authorities and third-parties relating to Company's employees.- Manages issues relating to non-compete, non-solicitation, IP, confidentiality and other conflict of interest issues.- Drafting and reviewing process documents to provide guidelines to ER and HR team from legal perspective.- Working closely with HR teams and global HR/Legal teams.- Legal review of Company Policies and Practices.- Monitoring employee litigation, employee matters, maintains trackers, analyzing trends through usage of excel skills, assess risk and work on possible solutions and mitigation steps in order to be future ready.- Develop effective relationship and engagement with internal stakeholders, international stake holders/ clients and other function groups.- Ability to assist in matters pertaining to contracts, corporate law, secretarial, corporate governance & legal compliance activities.- Vendor management (external council).

Qualification

- Law Degree from an accredited university- Experience in a reputed Law Firm / Consultancy Firm or as In-House Legal Support in a company (preferably IT/ITES)

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

- Previous work experience of 3-5 years- Good knowledge and exposure of policies, processes, investigation, employment matters, litigation- Adept at contract drafting, review- Knowledge of Labour laws and corporate advisory- Experience of legal work in various jurisdictions is an added advantage

Key Competency Profile

- Demonstrated skills on interpretation of laws, rules and judicial precedents to keep abreast of developments in the field of labour and employment laws.- Knowledge of labour & employment laws and compliance.- Ability to work closely as a team within legal verticals and stakeholders.- Litigation management and creation of database of ongoing cases. Work closely with external counsels across locations including remote location.- Demonstrate skills in drafting court documents, response to legal notice, written statement, evidence, review of questions for cross examination and written submissions.- Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.- Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and accountability- Maintains confidentiality of information- Possesses analytical skills- Has experience in stakeholder management- Ability to work independently and in a team- Ability to interpret and translate the law into practical measures- Strong oral and written communication skills- Ability to solve issues- Ability to manage conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment.
