Position SummarySGK is seeking an experienced AI Solution Engineer to join our Production IT team as a core member of our AI Lab. In this pivotal role, you will develop innovative AI-powered POCs utilizing cloud-based applications on AWS, contributing your AI expertise to drive innovation across the company. You will translate business needs into advanced AI solutions that are technically robust, user-friendly, and secure.

Directed by the Director of Digital Content Strategic Solutions A.I. & Cloud Governance. You will work closely with various teams, including the AI Council, data engineers, MLOps, and UI/UX designers, to translate business needs into technical requirements, software solutions, and intuitive user interfaces. Your ability to architect solutions leveraging AWS Bedrock and SageMaker platforms, as well as discover and recommend open-source AI models, will be critical in delivering value for the business.

A core aspect of your work will include ensuring SGK's AI solutions address responsible AI and data security while providing a seamless and engaging user experience. You will also collaborate closely with peers to move POC solutions into an optimized production framework for organization-wide scalability.

Job Responsibilities

Development:

Translate business needs into cloud architecture that safely and efficiently leverages foundational and open-source modelsDesign, develop, and deploy scalable and secure applications on AWSCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and create technical solutionsImplement best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing, and deployment processesAssist in research and development of innovative AI models including large language models, image generation, video generation, and other bespoke solutionsCreate simple and intuitive user interfaces for AI-powered POCs, ensuring a user-friendly experience that effectively demonstrates model functionalityParticipate in the deployment of AI models, ensuring proper integration and monitoring in the production environmentOptimize application performance, reliability, and cost-effectivenessParticipate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developersAssist with special projects as needed

AI Expertise:

Contribute to the ideation, research, and prototyping of AI-powered solutionsCollaborate with the AI Council to explore and implement cutting-edge AI technologiesStay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and deep learningProvide technical guidance and training to other teams on AI concepts and applicationsIdentify opportunities to leverage AI to enhance existing products and services

Qualifications / Requirements

Knowledge and hands-on experience with multi-modal AI modelsCuriosity and passion for exploring AI potential, with strong knowledge of AWS Bedrock and SageMaker platformsStrong communication skills to distill complex topicsExperience with Python and common AI/ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers)Understanding of natural language processing techniquesExperience in building user interfaces and collaborating with UI/UX designersFamiliarity with MLOps tools and practices (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring frameworks)Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)Proven experience in deploying, optimizing, and monitoring AI models in production environmentsAbility to discover, recommend, and integrate open-source AI modelsUnderstanding of data privacy, security regulations, and responsible AI practicesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSolid understanding and application of mathematical conceptsCollaborative mindset and desire to enhance human creativitySelf-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reportingAbility to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work overtime as necessary
