Job Title: Automation Tester
Location : Bangalore, India
Job Overview:
Scrumconnect Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Automation Tester to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. This role requires a professional with substantial experience in both functional and automation testing, particularly using Selenium and BDD frameworks. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical skillset, a deep understanding of testing methodologies, and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using Selenium and Java.
- Implement Behavior Driven Development (BDD) techniques using Cucumber.
- Manage code versioning tools, such as GIT.
- Conduct API testing using tools like Postman or SOAP UI.
- Engage in all phases of the software testing lifecycle (STLC).
- Utilize JIRA, Confluence, and other quality control tools to track defects and manage projects.
- Collaborate with international customers and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in Agile development processes and its various ceremonies.
Requirements:

Must-Have Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in functional and automation testing (5+ years in exceptional cases with strong technical skills).
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing using Selenium and BDD Cucumber frameworks with Java.
- Proficiency in GIT.
- Experience in API testing with tools like Postman or SOAP UI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidate should be adaptable to work as per UK work timing (9-5pm BST) i.e. 1.30 pm to 930 pm IST.
Should-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience in API testing with tools like Rest Assured or SOAP UI.
- Knowledge of different types of testing including System, Integration, and UAT.
- Familiarity with project management and bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and QC.
- Experience with build automation tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in Agile environments.
Could-Have Skills:
- Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL, including writing queries and using joins for data extraction and verification.
- Knowledge in Accessibility testing and Compatibility testing using tools like BrowserStack, Perfecto, or SauceLabs.
- Experience with performance testing and automation testing using Karate Framework.
- ISTQB Foundation Certification.
- Relevant certifications in Agile, Selenium, or related fields.
