bangalore, India Rippling Full time
About Rippling

Rippling is the first way for businesses to manage all of their HR & IT—payroll, benefits, computers, apps, and more—in one unified workforce platform.

By connecting every workforce system to a single source of truth for employee data, businesses can automate all of the manual work they normally need to do to make employee changes. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can just click a button and set up a new employee’s payroll, health insurance, work computer, and third-party apps—like Slack, Zoom, and Office 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world's top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Bedrock, and Greenoaks—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes (#12 out of 500)

About the team

The device management team is focused on helping companies and employees to manage company owned devices and make sure these devices run safely (with the right software, antivirus, and os updates installed, etc) and follow necessary compliances, such as having proper encryption to their data, which is a key demand for pretty much all companies who own computer devices.

  • To achieve this goal, we develop and leverage multiple components of our system, ranging from Rippling desktop app, Rippling agent to Rippling backend services.

  • In this team, you would have opportunities to work on all those components, and leverage them as a symphony to deliver most values to customers.

  • We are currently managing more than 120k devices around the world and are growing fast in both the number of managed devices and the new features we support.

Are you looking to be in a role where you can have a significant impact on the company’s growth and success?

Does the prospect of making the most pragmatic technical and business decisions, both of which will drastically shape the future of the business excite you?

Are you someone who takes immense pride in building excellent products for customers that are technically designed for scalability and extensibility, and just work all the time?

Are you excited about leading high performance teams, and rallying them towards a technical vision that drives the company’s success?

If you answered yes to these, come join us

Every year, employers and employees spend over $5 trillion on benefits globally. From health insurance to saving for retirement, these benefits products guide families through some of the most important and impactful decisions in life.

Despite the significance of these products and the dollars spent, the experience is still painfully antiquated, expensive, and confusing.

Rippling is building the first modern multi-sided marketplace that seamlessly connects brokers, employers, and employees with any benefit. Our platform powers the discovery, purchase, and use of benefits products around the world. Our benefits vertical includes our Benefits Platform (recommendations, payments, and our benefits eligibility engine), our rapidly growing Benefits Marketplace of over 100 partners, and our natively-built Rippling Benefits Products.

Your role will involve an outstanding blend of business and technical savviness, the ability to look into and build a big-picture vision and make that vision a reality. This is a high ownership, impact, and visibility role building a product that will directly impact Rippling’s growth.

You will:

  • Engineer and maintain innovative, customer centric, high performance, secure and robust solutions

  • Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects

  • Solve technical problems of the highest scope and complexity of your team

  • Translate high-level business requirements into a software design; communicate the designs to the other developers in the team.

  • Review and share feedback on code, features, technology, architecture, and designs. Drive the standards around code quality and testing across your product.

  • Drive the technical roadmap and architecture for the team.

  • Provide mentorship junior engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomy

  • Act as the technical lead for your pod/team and drive large initiatives.

  • Have exposure to business and technical leadership to strategize what can improve our revenue and our ability to scale rapidly

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Minimum 8 years of programming experience

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the duties

  • Ideally experience in scaling products from 1->100

  • Preferred experience in our technology stack- Python, Django, React, MongoDB, AWS and GoLang

  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment by identifying areas of impact and independently pursuing them

  • Infectious passion for solving real customer pain points

  • Experience in building scalable distributed systems

  • Experience in building critical platform pieces that help the product scale quickly.

  • Bonus: Experience in marketplace platforms.
