Overview.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer/Analyst with extensive experience in data ingestion and dashboard creation using the Elastic Stack suite.

This role involves leveraging Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana to support cybersecurity initiatives through effective data management, analysis, and visualization.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of security data pipelines, real-time threat detection, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities :

Security Data Ingestion :

- Design, implement, and manage security data ingestion pipelines using Logstash.

- Develop configurations to ingest, transform, and load security-related data from diverse sources (e.g.
network logs, system logs, security tools) into Elasticsearch.

- Ensure data integrity and consistency during the ingestion process.

- Troubleshoot and resolve ingestion issues, optimizing performance and reliability.

Elasticsearch Management :

- Configure and manage Elasticsearch clusters for scalability, high availability, and performance with a focus on security data.

- Implement indexing strategies, mappings, and settings tailored to specific security data requirements.

- Monitor and maintain Elasticsearch performance, including shard allocation, cluster state, and replication.

- Perform regular data maintenance tasks such as reindexing, backup, and restore operations.

Security Dashboard Creation and Data Visualization :

- Utilize Kibana to create interactive, user-friendly dashboards that provide meaningful insights from ingested security data.

- Develop and maintain visualizations, reports, and alerts tailored to cybersecurity needs.

- Collaborate with security analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Continuously improve and update dashboards to reflect changing security landscapes and business requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Proven Experience : At least 3-5 years of experience working with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) in a cybersecurity context.

Security Data Ingestion Expertise : Strong proficiency in using Logstash for building security data pipelines and data transformation.

Elasticsearch Proficiency : In-depth knowledge of Elasticsearch, including index management, querying, and performance tuning for security data.

Kibana Mastery : Advanced skills in creating and managing Kibana dashboards, visualizations, and alerts focused on cybersecurity.

Scripting and Automation : Experience with scripting languages (e.g.Python, Bash) for automating tasks and managing security data pipelines.

Cybersecurity Knowledge : Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response.

Problem Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data integrity and quality.

Collaboration : Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including security analysts and IT operations.

Exp : 3 to 5 years.
