Job Summary: The Payroll and Compliance Manager is responsible for managing payroll functions, ensuring compliance with the Contract Labor (Regulation and Abolition) Act (CLRA) and other labor laws, while providing exceptional client service. This role focuses on maintaining strong client relationships and managing regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:


Payroll Management:

* Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees.

* Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.

* Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries.


Client Engagement:

* Serve as the primary contact for client payroll and compliance inquiries.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high satisfaction.


Compliance and Labor Law:

* Ensure compliance with CLRA and other relevant labor laws.

* Stay updated on changes in labor regulations and tax laws.

* Prepare and file necessary reports and documentation for compliance.


Reporting:

* Prepare reports on payroll activities, compliance issues, and client interactions.

* Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations to clients and management.


Team Management:

* Supervise and support payroll staff.

* Provide training and development for team members on compliance and client service.


Process Improvement:

* Identify and implement process improvements in payroll and compliance operations.

* Collaborate with HR, Finance, and clients to streamline processes.


Qualifications:


* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management and client service.

* Strong knowledge of CLRA and other labor laws.

* Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite.

* Excellent organizational, communication, and client-facing skills.

* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.


Preferred Qualifications:

* Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification.

* Experience in labor law compliance and client relationship management.
