Are you ready to go beyond?Pratt & Whitney Control Systems Engineering & Electrification (CSEE) Organization is responsible for developing control system architecture and integrating the design of control components, modules and systems into world class commercial and military jet turbine engine and aircraft systems.The CSEE organization is seeking a Mechanical Controls Hardware Systems Engineer with strong technical, communication and teamwork skills. The successful candidate will be responsible to develop, integrate and certify lubrication, pneumatic, and thermal management jet turbine engine control subsystems and hardware for commercial aircraft customers. CSEE engineering work the entire system life cycle from 1) control system technology development, 2) interpreting customer requirements, decomposing them to hardware and software, 3) technical and project oversight of hardware implementation, to 4) ensuring control system compliance across engine, flight and customer compliance testing, and finally, 5) leading system and hardware field issue triage and resolution.Key Responsibilities:Owner of one or more control component specificationsCoordinate hardware item Flight Safety/ Safety requirementsResponsible for technical resolution of supplier compliance gapsTechnical & Project Owner for Supplier ReviewsSupplier development validation testing (DVT) issue resolutionHardware development engine test readinessHardware item component Cert/Qualification (36-point Checklist) (Plans, Reports)Field issue component root cause and corrective actionSupports integrated product team lead on engineering changes for controls componentsTracking field issuesProcessing available field data to support Root Cause AnalysisDeveloping tools for large data processingEngaging subject matter experts for issue investigationsLeading component supplier investigations, corrective actions definition and on-time executionReporting status, progress, risks on ongoing component redesign projectsDiving on detailed investigations on top field failures contributors and build team's expertise on electrical, electronics and sensing subsystemsBasic Qualifications:A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experienceBachelor's Degree in an Engineering disciplineExperience with gas turbine engine operation, design, and familiarity with engine hardware and function.Preferred Qualifications:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.Experience Presenting Excellent Communication Skills Ability to work on a cross functional team Experience with DOORS, MATLAB, other modeling software ability to communicate at all levels (customers/peers/executives)Education Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Discipline, Master’s degree preferable.
