We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a Business Analyst in Maritime Industry
Role: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Siruseri SIPCOT, Chennai
How you will contribute:
Conduct in-depth analysis of business requirements, user needs, and existing systems to identify gaps and propose effective solutions tailored to the maritime software.
Collaborate with product managers, software developers, and clients to gather, define, and prioritize functional and technical requirements.
Translate complex business processes and user requirements into clear and concise specifications and user stories.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development oversight, quality assurance, and implementation support.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for product differentiation and innovation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions within agreed timelines and budget.
Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders on industry-specific best practices and emerging technologies.
Continuously monitor the performance and effectiveness of implemented solutions, collecting user feedback and driving ongoing improvements.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in the maritime sector, incorporating relevant insights into product development initiatives.
What will make you successful:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
5 to 10 years of Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the maritime Industry.
Deep understanding of the maritime industry, including knowledge of shipping operations, logistics, port management, vessel performance, regulatory compliance, or related areas.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather, interpret, and translate complex business requirements into actionable solutions.
Proficiency in eliciting and documenting functional and technical specifications, user stories, and use cases.
Familiarity with agile software development methodologies and tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with a focus on driving innovative solutions.
Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of software development processes and technologies is highly desirable.
Familiarity with maritime software applications, such as fleet management systems, vessel tracking solutions, or maritime data analytics, is a plus.
