The Project Engineer – Solar is responsible for supporting the design, planning, execution, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. The role ensures technical accuracy, quality, safety, and timely delivery while coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review solar PV system designs, layouts, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
  • Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and energy yield simulations using PVsyst/Helioscope.
  • Support procurement activities, including technical evaluation of solar modules, inverters, and balance-of-system components.
  • Supervise and monitor construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE), local electrical codes, and HSE regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers on scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Prepare project reports, as-built documentation, and O&M manuals.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and resolve site-related engineering issues.
  • Monitor system performance post-commissioning and support troubleshooting activities.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, electrical systems, and grid integration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Project/Primavera, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, monitoring platforms, and testing equipment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) or renewable energy projects.
  • Knowledge of national and international standards and codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., NABCEP, PMP, or equivalent) preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Timely completion of assigned project deliverables.
  • Adherence to technical specifications, quality, and safety standards.
  • Cost and schedule compliance.
  • Effective stakeholder coordination and issue resolution.
  • System performance achievement post-commissioning.
