Job Description: SAP Data Services Consultant


Job Summary:

The SAP Data Services Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SAP Data Services. This role requires collaboration with data architects, business analysts, and other IT professionals to ensure the data solutions align with business requirements and technical standards. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with SAP Data Services, excellent analytical skills, creation of data models, physical and virtual ETL and a strong understanding of data integration best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop ETL processes using SAP Data Services to extract, transform, and load

data from various sources into target systems.

* Collaborate with business stakeholders and data architects to understand data

requirements and design effective solutions.

* Establish, maintain and adhere to best practices for the solution development and project

delivery

* Perform data profiling, data quality assessment, and data cleansing as part of data

migration and integration projects.

* Optimize ETL workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.

* Create and maintain documentation for data mappings, ETL processes, and data flows.

* Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data integration processes and workflows.

* Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all ETL operations.

* Monitor data loading and processing activities to ensure completion within the defined

SLAs.

* Participate in data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data security and

privacy regulations.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

* Proven experience (3 years minimum) with SAP Data Services (SAP DS/BODS) in designing,

developing, and implementing ETL processes.

* Functional knowledge of SAP

* Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell Scripting).

* Strong knowledge of data integration concepts, data modeling, and relational databases

(e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, SAP HANA).

* Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation languages.

* Familiarity with SAP systems (e.g., ECC, RFC, BAPI, IDOC, LSMW) and other data sources.

* Experience with data profiling, data quality, and data governance.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
