As we enter our next phase of growth, we’re looking for a Chief Architect to define and drive the architectural vision for our Ad Exchange stack — including SSP, DSP integrations, and real-time bidding systems. Role Overview The Chief Architect will be responsible for designing a scalable, low-latency Ad Tech ecosystem capable of handling billions of ad requests per day. This is a hands-on architecture leadership role — ideal for someone who enjoys translating business goals into robust, future-proof technology solutions while mentoring a fast-growing engineering team. Key Responsibilities 1. Architecture & System Design Define the end-to-end technical architecture for Nex Verse’s Ad Exchange and SSP/DSP integration layers. Design for high throughput and ultra-low latency (targeting sub-100ms bid response times). Build a modular architecture enabling plug-and-play demand and supply integrations . Lead architecture reviews, scalability planning, and system optimization efforts. 2. Technology Strategy & Roadmap Define and evolve the technology roadmap in line with the company’s growth and monetization strategy. Evaluate emerging technologies (edge bidding, clean rooms, contextual AI models) and drive POCs for adoption. Partner with Product and Revenue teams to ensure architectural alignment with new feature rollouts and revenue models. 3. Engineering Leadership Work closely with backend engineers to define coding, design, and data handling best practices. Mentor engineering talent and establish strong Dev Ops, CI/CD, and observability foundations. Foster a high-performance engineering culture cantered on ownership, scalability, and innovation. 4. Data & Infrastructure Architect data pipelines for real-time analytics, reporting, and ML-driven optimization . Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and efficient data storage across distributed environments. Work with the Dev Ops team to optimize cloud cost, network latency, and system observability. 5. Compliance & Governance Design with privacy, transparency, and regulatory compliance in mind (GDPR, CCPA, cookie-less identity). Establish frameworks for consent management, identity graph integration, and audience segmentation. Core Technical Expertise Deep Ad Tech ecosystem knowledge: SSP, DSP, Ad Exchange, RTB, Header Bidding, Programmatic Advertising. Architectural mastery: High-throughput, 100 K QPS. Hands-on with: Languages: Go, Java, or Rust Datastores: Redis, Aerospike, Cassandra, Click House Stream processing: Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming Infra & Cloud: AWS / GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform Data systems: ETL pipelines, analytics stores, ML model integration Experience building real-time decision engines and working with data signals for optimization. Exposure to privacy-first frameworks and identity resolution technologies . Preferred Profile Proven track record as Chief Architect / Principal Engineer / Distinguished Engineer in an Ad Tech or high-scale data platform company. Strong exposure to real-time bidding (RTB) and supply-demand optimization . Entrepreneurial mindset — ability to work in an agile, fast-scaling startup environment. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across tech and business teams.
