Job Description :


- 5+ years of experience working in a software product development organization building modern and scalable big data applications.

- Expertise with Scala functional programming (intermediate/advanced level is a mandate).

- Data structures and algorithms in Scala.

- Fluency in Hadoop technologies around handling big data processing e.g. Spark.

- Experience implementing RESTful web services in Scala, Python, or similar languages.

- Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases.

- Experience in information retrieval and machine learning.

Additional Requirements :

- Familiarity with GeoSpatial concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities :


- Design, develop, and implement big data applications using Scala functional programming (intermediate/advanced level).


- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Scala data structures and algorithms.


- Utilize Hadoop technologies (e.g., Spark) to effectively manage and process large datasets.


- Implement RESTful web services in Scala, Python, or similar languages for data interaction and integration.


- Manage NoSQL and SQL databases for data storage and retrieval.


- Design and implement solutions using information retrieval and machine learning techniques.


- Maintain and optimize existing big data pipelines to ensure efficiency and scalability.


- Collaborate with data scientists and developers to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements.


- Troubleshoot and debug big data processing issues to ensure smooth system operation.


- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in big data technologies and best practices.


Qualifications :


- 5+ years of experience working in a software product development organization building modern and scalable big data applications.


- Expertise in Scala functional programming (intermediate/advanced level is mandatory).


- In-depth understanding of Scala data structures and algorithms.


- Fluency in Hadoop technologies and experience working with big data processing frameworks like Spark.


- Experience implementing RESTful web services. Familiarity with NoSQL and SQL databases for data persistence.


- Prior experience in information retrieval and machine learning is a plus.
