R & R for MTS level Design engineer: Own complete design of the x86 motherboard design and complete the schematics on time. Ensure the design calculations and simulations wherever applicable are completed and validated by the Platform Lead. Drive cross functional meetings(BIO/FW/Validation/SW) to close on Implementation of Platform Features. Drive discussions with external vendors and eco-system for Design choice of components, Design reviews, Stackup related vendor discussions, BOM checks and optimization, Identification of alternate components and timely closure of library requests. Support Debug and Triage of Platform issues and provide consultation to the other cross-functional members for any clarification or help required by them on Platform Hardware. Make sure the BOM updates and releases are meeting the required milestones internally and track them to a proper and timely closure. Working with SI/PI and Layout teams to execute the Platform Design with great robustness and bring out First Time Right Designs. Providing appropriate Guidance for Platform Manufacturing and Assembly Quality Checks and help the Board Operations team in verifying the boards for any Manufacturing or Assembly defects. Perform Platform related verification and measurements for new products, maintain test plans, Platform Design checklists and risk callouts. Individual requirements: 10+Yrs Strong Board Design Fundamentals pertaining to Mixed signal design, High Speed board design, and Power Design and good understanding of x86 microarchitecture. Hands-on with debug, triage, and validation procedures for all the interfaces and subsystems of a platform. Strong and hands-on knowledge on EMI/EMC, SI/PI, PCB stackup, Crosstalk mitigation, Effective noise mitigation techniques. Good experience on Clocks, resets, level translators, glue logic, etc. Adept in using EDA tools for Schematics/Layout and Signal Integrity (Cadence, Mentor, Orcad, Sigrity, ADS) Experienced with simulation tools like PSPICE/HSPICE/MATLAB and processor load emulators. Fair knowledge of HW development life-cycle end to end from Design Conception, Execution, Fabrication & Assembly, board Bring-up, Test & Validation, Reporting and Customer support. Preferred experience working with cross-functional teams like BIOS/FW/Thermal/Mechanical/ SW. Expertise in High Speed I/Os like PCIe (preferably Gen4 and above), Memory (DDR4/DDR5.LPDDR4/LPDDR5), USB4.0/3.2/3.1, USB PD, USB Type C, Display interfaces and Ethernet and high-speed interconnects. Experience in Analog and Digital circuits design and analysis. Experience in Power Management, Power Delivery, and Power Measurements. Hands-on high speed and board measurement techniques in using high end equipment like Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Debugger tools, Raspberry PI, Network analyzers, etc. Preferred experience with scripting using TCL, Python Electrical design, SI and Layout analysis and basic soldering & rework skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, team playing and influencing skills. Key responsibilities: Error free and timely delivery of HW design – Schematics, Design analysis, Design calculations. Synergize with the Platform Leads for proper interception of milestones and risk callouts. Drive discussions with cross-functional teams for Platform feature related discussions. Actively involved in Debug & Triage of the Platform HW.
