Data Engineer


Job Description

The Data Engineer provides core knowledge in data integration techniques to build complex data-centric solutions. This role's focus is on the design, implementation, automation, and optimisation of data pipelines and enterprise-wide data-centric applications (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses) for large and/or challenging data sets.


Responsibilities

  • Design and build pipelines to extract, load, and transform data
  • Collaborate with QA to test data pipelines
  • Manage software with source code repositories
  • Orchestrate pipeline execution with workflow tools
  • Deploy pipelines with CI/CD techniques and platforms


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven track record of expertise in Data Engineering and in delivering complex projects
  • Data engineering knowledge including ELT/ETL, Data Warehousing, and Data Visualization
  • Strong SQL writing and optimizing skills for relational database platforms
  • Experience with major public cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with workflow orchestration/scheduling solutions


Additional Qualifications

  • Experience building automated test frameworks for data pipelines
  • Understanding of the theory and application of Continuous Integration/Delivery
