Job Title: Quality Mechanical Engineer(tank and pipe)

NDT level 2 certification Required

Job Summary:

The Quality Mechanical Engineer is responsible for ensuring all tank fabrication, erection, and mechanical construction activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and company quality procedures. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with site teams to maintain the highest quality standards in tank construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor Quality Control (QC) procedures and Inspection Test Plans (ITP) for tank construction projects.

Conduct material inspection, welding inspection, dimensional checks, and fit-up inspection during tank fabrication and erection.

Ensure compliance with ASME, API 650/653, AWS, and other relevant codes and standards.

Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) coordination (RT, UT, PT, MT, etc.) and review results.

Verify and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).

Monitor welding, cutting, hydrotesting, and tank erection activities at site.

Review and approve material certificates, test reports, and vendor documents.

Prepare and maintain Quality Documentation (Inspection reports, NCRs, Method Statements, QA/QC dossiers).

Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, clients, and third-party inspectors for quality-related issues.

Ensure corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances.

Support final handover and ensure complete quality documentation for project closure.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and tank erection processes.

Familiarity with international codes & standards (API 650/653, ASME, ASTM, AWS, ISO, etc.).

Experience in preparing and implementing Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.

Knowledge of NDT methods and interpretation of reports.

Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Good communication and coordination abilities.

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

3–8 years of experience in QA/QC in tank mechanical construction projects

Pay: ₹20, ₹45,000.00 per month
