Job Summary: We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Linux System and Networking Administrator with strong experience in virtualization (especially Proxmox and VMware v Center) and a deep understanding of enterprise networking. You will be responsible for maintaining our Linux systems, managing virtualized environments, and ensuring robust and secure network operations across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Linux System Administration Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, Cent OS, RHEL) in physical and virtual environments. Manage web, database, file, and directory services, including Apache/Nginx, My SQL/Postgre SQL, Samba, and LDAP. Develop and maintain system automation scripts using Bash, Ansible, or similar tools. Ensure system uptime, performance, and reliability through proactive monitoring and maintenance. Virtualization & Infrastructure Management Administer and maintain Proxmox VE and VMware v Center/ESXi virtual environments. Provision, clone, snapshot, and manage virtual machines and containers. Monitor and optimize virtual resource utilization (CPU, memory, storage). Assist in planning and implementing scalable, redundant virtualization infrastructure. Network Administration Design, configure, and manage LAN/WAN environments, including VLANs , routing , trunking , and link aggregation . Administer and maintain firewalls (e.g., pf Sense, iptables, Forti Gate), VPNs , and secure remote access solutions (Open VPN, Wire Guard). Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like tcpdump , Wireshark , and Net Flow . Maintain DNS, DHCP, NAT, and port forwarding rules in both physical and virtualized networks. Security and Compliance Harden Linux systems and network infrastructure based on best practices. Conduct periodic audits, patching, and updates for operating systems, hypervisors, and firewalls. Implement and maintain intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and network access control. Support & Documentation Provide tier 2/3 support for Linux, network, and virtualization-related issues. Document infrastructure, network diagrams, system configurations, and SOPs. Work closely with IT security, Dev Ops, and cloud teams to ensure a consistent and secure infrastructure. Requirements: Experience 3–5+ years of experience in Linux system administration and networking. 3+ years’ experience managing Proxmox or VMware v Center environments. Technical Skills Proficient in Linux (RHEL, Cent OS, Ubuntu). Hands-on experience with Proxmox VE , v Sphere , and VMware v Center . Deep understanding of networking fundamentals : TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols, and NAT. Experience configuring and managing firewalls and VPNs . Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Ansible, or Python). Familiar with monitoring/logging tools: Zabbix, Grafana, ELK, or similar. Preferred Qualifications Certifications: RHCE, VCP, CCNA, Comp TIA Network+, or equivalent. Experience with SDN, high availability setups, and network segmentation. Familiarity with hybrid cloud infrastructure or on-premises to cloud migrations. Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Good communication and documentation abilities. Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
