We are looking for a Hydrology & Hydraulics Engineer with experience on Hydropower and Pumped-hydro projects with a focus on hydrological and hydraulic studies in realization of projects ranging from feasibility studies to construction.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible to carry out work in a team and/or supervise various types of studies in the fields of hydrology and hydraulics, such as: Hydrological studies and modelling to determine statistical floods and probable maximum floods, flood routing studies, evaluation of flood zones. Dam safety studies and dam failure analysis. Design of hydraulic structures such as spillways, weirs, stilling basins, water intakes, penstocks, channels, temporary diversions, tunnels, fish passes, culverts etc. Hydrodynamic analyses with 1D, 2D and 3D simulation tools. Remote sensing and GIS applications. Power generation and energy studies. Optimization of water conveyance systems. Transient analysis. Wave studies, erosion protection and stabilization. Sedimentation studies. Prepare design basis memoranda, technical memoranda, and design reports. Participate in risk analysis workshops including dam-safety related risks. Provide presentations to clients and internal audiences including technical teams and management committees.

What are we looking for?

The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent and master’s degree in hydrology/ hydraulics/ water resources. 12-15 years of experience in the hydroelectric industry. Knowledge of analytical methods and tools in the field of hydrology and hydraulics. Knowledge of HEC models such as HEC-RAS 1D and 2D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RESSIM. Knowledge of one or more 2D and 3D modelling software such as FLOW-3D, Telemac, SOBEK, Delft 3D. Knowledge of software for hydraulic transient studies such as SIMSEN, WHAMO. Experience in dam safety studies will be an asset. Fluency in English (spoken and written; French is an asset). Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Excellent technical writing skills.
