As a Technical Marketing Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a key role in providing detailed technical information to our partners, customers, and our employees.In this role, you will work with cutting edge technology, redefining the future of network security. The individual will help develop and run performance tests, manage betas for new products, consult with customers on complex deployments, develop and deliver technical training for Systems Engineers and document technical concepts to educate our employees and customer base.You are a self-starter, keen to learn and experiment with new technologies. You work well independently and excel at identifying the potential sales needs of our clients and shaping the direction of the company’s products. You aren't afraid of ambiguity - instead, you like the challenge of defining new products as they come to market.Your ImpactBuild out and manage lab environments and demo systems to replicate customer environments and real-world simulationsHelp customers, channel partners, and system engineers with product related questions and hands-on technical trainingEngage customers in EBC and lead for technologies of your responsibilityDevelop technical content including tech notes, publications, solution guides, white papers, and webinarsUpdate field teams on new features e.g. presenting in Sales and SE enablementsContinues monitoring the performance of new releases after they are availableDrive the success of customer trials by assisting beta customers with understanding and configuring new product capabilitiesCollaborate with Product Management to provide feedback for future product enhancements.Review PRDs and engineering specs and provide feedbackDevelop and deliver high-reaching positioning strategies and answer specific questions relative to the product areaWork with the Documentation team to provide relevant content and validate those.Act as the lead technical expert and consultant for SD-WAN offerings, encompassing routing, security, and cloud-managed networking functionalitiesCollaborate with a virtual team on initiatives across functions e.g. to investigate and resolve customer issues, and to gather feature requestsDrive partners and customer enablement on advanced SD-WAN concepts, including IPv6 adoption, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), security features, and cloud integrationQualificationsYour ExperienceBS/MS in computer science field or equivalent experience or equivalent military experience requiredPrior experience delivering technical product training, producing technical collaterals, and presenting to customersStrong knowledge of SD-WAN architectures, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6), and network security technologies (firewalls, VPN, IPSec).Proven experience in technical support, product testing, or QA is a plus.Strong desire to learn and experiment with new technologiesExperience to setup lab environment and create custom demos simulating customer environmentsKnowledge in building and maintaining POC & Demo environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation skills and trade show experienceSelf-starter with excellent project organization skills, ability to drive complex projects with high levels of detail and hit deadlinesAbility to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyStrong customer advocacy skills and experience, ability to work in difficult customer situationsExcellent people skills, team player & collaboration mentalityAdditional InformationThe TeamAt Palo Alto Networks, we believe in the power of collaboration and value in-person interactions.
