Through these campaigns and outreach efforts, the organization is dedicated to enhancing consumer knowledge and engagement in the power sector, contributing to a more environmentally friendly and economically responsible energy landscape.

Job Description:

PFI seeks to hire a suitable candidate for the position of Associate - DRE to support team’s research efforts on importance, opportunities, and increasing the adoption of distributed renewable energy (DRE) in India.We are looking for a candidate with comprehensive understanding of agro-biomass based DRE supply chain; DRE based technologies and solutions for improving the life and livelihoods of communities; policies and regulations pertaining to distributed renewables; socio-economic fabric of rural, peri-urban and urban India; understanding of the power sector; experience of working on DRE projects and engaging with communities.

Key Responsibilities:Agro-biomass based DRE supply chain mapping, analysis, and valuation across geographies and social status in India.Reviews and analyse regulations, policies and schemes in the renewable energy, with special reference to DRE.Conceptualise, design and implement research methods, innovative ideas, policy interventions supporting DRE technologies.Identify DRE deployment issues and opportunities from the state’s perspective to conceptualise and execute research that can aid policy and regulatory related changes.Explore different DRE models and programs, test for economic viability, and analyse business opportunities taking positive & negative externalities into consideration.Develop strategies for innovative business models and perform economic and financial analysis.To undertake impact assessment of programs/schemes/policies.Prepare study proposals; develop scope of the work; collect, collate and analyse data & information; design and undertake impact evaluation studies; project management; report writing.

QualificationsEducation:

Master’s degree in any of the following areas economics, social science, public policy or related field.Understanding of agro-biomass based DRE supply chain; DRE based technologiesand solutions for improving the life and livelihoods of communities; policies and regulationspertaining to distributed renewables; socio-economic fabric of rural, peri-urban andurban India; understanding of the power sector.Strong research background with an adequate understanding of research methods and quantitative skills.Work Experience:

At least 4-5 years of relevant work experience in DRE projects and engaging with communities; field of research; policy/industry engagement and project management.Prior experience for prepare study proposals; develop scope of the work; collect, collate and analyse data & information; design and undertake impact evaluation studies; project management; report writing.
