Job Description
The IVF Specialized Staff Nurse provides high-quality care to patients undergoing fertility treatments. This role involves supporting patients through the IVF process, assisting medical professionals during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and education throughout the treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Provide compassionate care and emotional support to patients during fertility treatments.
Conduct initial assessments, including vital signs and medical history documentation.
Assist in the preparation and administration of IVF-related medications, injections, and hormonal treatments.
Clinical Assistance:
Assist doctors during ultrasound scans, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, and other fertility procedures.
Prepare and maintain sterile environments in operating and treatment rooms.
Monitor patients during and post-procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on the IVF process, medication protocols, and self-care post-procedures.
Address patient concerns and queries with professionalism and empathy.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital protocols.
Coordinate appointments and follow-ups with the IVF team and patients.
Quality Assurance:
Adhere to infection control and safety standards in all clinical activities.
Participate in continuous professional development and training related to fertility nursing.
Skills:
Proficiency in handling fertility medications and related protocols.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage stress and provide emotional support to patients.
Knowledge of fertility procedures, terminology, and patient care standards.
