Job Purpose:

To design and engineer solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System Design:

- Conduct detailed site surveys and assessments.- Design solar PV systems, including system sizing, component selection, and layout.- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications.- Analyze solar irradiance data and other relevant parameters.- Optimize system design for maximum energy output and minimal costs.

1. Electrical Design:

- Design DC and AC electrical systems, including cable sizing, circuit breaker selection, and earthing.- Prepare electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.- Coordinate with electrical contractors for installation and commissioning.

1. Structural Design:

- Design and supervise the construction of solar PV structures, including roof-mounted and ground-mounted systems.- Ensure compliance with structural engineering standards and local building codes.

1. Regulatory Compliance:

- Stay updated on the latest solar PV regulations and standards.- Prepare necessary documentation for obtaining permits and approvals.- Ensure compliance with grid connection requirements and safety standards.

1. Project Management:

- Coordinate with project teams, including civil, electrical, and procurement teams.- Monitor project timelines and budgets.- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.- Strong understanding of solar PV technology and system design principles.- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst).- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.- Good communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
