The O&M Lead is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance (O&M) activities of a system, facility, or infrastructure, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, performance optimization, and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs). This role includes managing a team, troubleshooting and resolving issues, coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance, and ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of operations. The O&M Lead will work closely with engineering, technical teams, and management to ensure effective service delivery and operational excellence.


Experience: Minimum of 12 years experience in IT projects. Should have experience in service level management, operations and maintenance of large IT projects for government clients (minimum 2 projects) for at least 3 years.


Location: Madhya Pradesh. (Expected to travel and be stationed across various States in India as per project requirement)


Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

·       Lead day-to-day operations of systems, infrastructure, or facilities, ensuring that all processes, equipment, and services run efficiently and effectively.

·       Coordinate with various internal teams to monitor system performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement solutions.

·       Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operations, performance monitoring, and safety protocols.

·       Manage incident management and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.

Maintenance Strategy & Planning:

·       Develop and implement an effective O&M strategy, including preventive maintenance schedules, corrective maintenance procedures, and contingency plans.

·       Plan, schedule, and supervise routine maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

·       Oversee the assessment and maintenance of equipment, systems, and infrastructure, ensuring that all assets are properly serviced and maintained.

Team Leadership & Management:

·       Lead and supervise the O&M team, ensuring they are properly trained, resourced, and aligned with the organization’s operational goals.

·       Allocate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise.

·       Provide coaching and mentorship to staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

·       Conduct regular performance reviews and identify areas for improvement and skill development within the team.

Budgeting & Cost Management:

·       Manage the O&M budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and cost-effectively.

·       Monitor and control O&M costs, working with the finance team to identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising operational efficiency.

·       Ensure that all O&M activities are conducted within the allocated budget and report any deviations to management.

Compliance & Safety:

·       Ensure that O&M activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

·       Maintain safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring that all work is conducted in a safe manner and that hazards are identified and mitigated.

·       Oversee the implementation of safety training programs and emergency response plans for the O&M team.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

·       Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operations, maintenance, and service quality, ensuring targets are met.

·       Prepare and present regular O&M performance reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

·       Utilize data analytics to track system performance, identify trends, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

·       Lead efforts to continuously improve O&M processes and systems, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.

·       Identify and implement automation tools, predictive maintenance solutions, or other innovations to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.

·       Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to recommend upgrades or modifications to existing systems based on performance insights.

Vendor Management & Contract Oversight:

·       Manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring compliance with SLAs, service quality, and cost-effectiveness.

·       Oversee the negotiation and renewal of contracts related to operations and maintenance services, ensuring terms align with business needs.

·       Ensure that all equipment and service contracts are managed properly, including warranty claims, support services, and vendor performance monitoring.

Emergency & Incident Response:

·       Coordinate emergency response activities and troubleshooting procedures in case of system failures, breakdowns, or other disruptions.

·       Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis to ensure that corrective actions are taken to prevent reoccurrence.

·       Maintain detailed records of incidents, issues, resolutions, and lessons learned for future reference.


Skills Required:

·       Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and manage a diverse team.

·       Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex operational issues.

·       Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

·       Proficiency in maintenance management software and other operational tools.

·       Knowledge of operational KPIs and performance metrics, with the ability to analyze data and drive performance improvements.

·       Familiarity with compliance requirements, safety standards, and industry regulations.

·       Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors.


Qualification:

·       Minimum BE/ B.Tech/ MCA/M.Tech / MSc. in Computer Science/ Electronic & Communication Engineering /IT or MBA (IT).

·       The resource should have a minimum of 12 years experience in IT projects with at least 6 years in management of large IT Projects.

·       The resource should have experience in service level management, operations and maintenance of large IT projects for government clients (minimum 2 projects) for at least 3 years.

·       The resource should have a certification in any Certified PMI/Prince 2/ ITIL.

·       Fluency in English and Hindi (Speaking, reading & writing).
