What will be Your Learnings?

Understand the journey

from data to decision-making via business analytics. This includes accessing and integrating data from multiple sources, constructing data models, designing dashboards, enabling analytics.Best practices of Data Analytics

end-to-end i.e. ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) activities, build data pipelines, analyze data through statistical methods, and present it visually.Designing an efficient solution

for a given business problem.Collaborate

& work in a team environment, colleagues in different roles.Understand scalable data architectures, cloud tools and data flows in

practical business-cases.Interact with clients

How does your workday look like during this internship?

The role will be supporting the senior team on following tasks:Sector-specific Research & Process Diagnostics:

Researching a sector or business function for relevant process & data, KPIs, tracking external data from the web, various data-points of organizationsData Cleaning, Preparation & Engineering:Data Extraction / Connection:

Design and build data pipelines – from connecting data from various sources and APIs. Use of tools like Python, SQL, Power Automate, Azure & AWS cloud tools.Data Engineering & Transformation:

Leveraging various functions and tools like Power Query, functions in Excel & Google Sheets (Google Script), Python, SQL, etc. to scrape (web data), clean, sanitize data and get it in shape for further computation and formats based on the business needMapping data points

from business requirements, organizing data into masters (dimension tables), transactions (fact tables) and forming relationships in data model / cube.Data warehousing

before and after-transformation, documentation best practicesDashboard Preparation & Business Analysis:Visualization & BI:

After data modelling, defining functions & calculations (measures), building charts & visuals, slicing-dicing elements in report, publishing the report. Getting hands-on with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, relevant Python libraries and other data analysis tools.Calculating and Tracking:

Key Business Metrics (Key Performance Indicators - KPIs), Ratios for efficiency, occupancy, financial health, etc.) to help monitor company performance on a monthly or quarterly basis. Using these metrics to compare and analyze client results.Analytics:

Understanding the key business data trends, moving averages, exceptions (high and low) and outlier values, drilldowns for analyzing reasons, comparison - composition - relationship matrixBusiness Relevance:

Reports can be for different business functions e.g. finance & accounting, operations, sales & marketing, HR etc. and requires awareness of business processes and use-cases for sectors like Retail & Distribution, D2C & E-Commerce, ITES & SaaS, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Healthcare, other services etc. Understanding user roles / hierarchy and sharing the reports accordingly.Workflow Organization and Automation:

Workflow organization using tools like Power Apps or Google Apps and automation using low-code / no-code tools like Power Automate, Selenium, Zappier etc.Apart from client projects, the

role may require you to work on Datachamps’ own requirements

such as building and enhancing internal dashboards, business process documentation, standardizing deliverables, content & dashboards for social media user engagement and client samplesApplicants having relevant experience on any one or more of the above responsibilities will be an advantage and will be duly considered.

Qualification & Soft Skills Requirements

This internship is for a duration of 6 months and is a mandatory requirement that the candidate is available for this time period.Interested in working for a dynamic and high-growth venture where your analysis drives important decisions for seniors in the team.Keen interest and basic understanding of data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.Strong language & communication skills with the ability to discuss any issues with a wide variety of individuals and groups.A well-organized team player with the ability to perform various tasks, act individually, and think creatively.Graduation from a top-tier institute in Data Science, Commerce, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management (Qualified CAs, CMAs and MBAs or candidates pursuing these courses are also eligible)

Remuneration & Career Path

The internship will be for 6 (six) months. Based on assessments during and post internship, the candidate may be onboarded as a Junior Business Analyst.Monthly stipend will be paid during the internship (a higher pay may be considered in case of relevant prior experience).Accelerated path may be considered in case of excellent performance during the internship.
