Job DescriptionAt Freight Tiger, we believe data drives smarter decisions and innovative solutions. We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist who can turn complex datasets into actionable insights. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, and computer science, combined with curiosity and creativity. From Day 1, this person will analyse data, build predictive models, and uncover opportunities that power business growth and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will work collaboratively with teams/products, crafting data science and machine learning solutions that generate a big impact on customers.You will drive best practices for models, and build operational models that run at scale.You will conduct experiments and develop hypotheses to solve business problems using advanced statistics techniques.You will communicate technical findings and insights to stakeholders in a clear, easy and concise way, keeping the stakeholders in mind.You will research and maintain a deep knowledge of the industry, including trends and technologies, so that you can identify strategy opportunities and contribute to thought leadership best practices. You’ll also write extensible code that spans multiple features, and develop expertise in proper debugging techniques.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.6-12 years of experience in data science or a related field.Strong background in data mining, statistics, and mathematical modellingAdvanced expertise in predictive modelling and pattern recognition.Proven experience in Python or Java development.Strong SQL skills and experience with database schema design and data modelling.Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark is a plus.Familiarity with cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.Technical SkillsYou have experience with statistical modelling, machine learning, deep learning, optimization and other data science techniques to implement end-to-end data science projects.You understand the specialized areas of AI and possess experience with at least one of them (i.e.: NLP/computer vision/Generative AI, etc).You have experience with R, Python or equivalent statistical/data analysis tools and can write production-ready code that is easy to evolve and test.You gather and pre-process large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.You analyse datasets using statistical and visualization techniques to identify patterns, trends and relationships.You develop and implement machine learning models, algorithms and predictive analytics to solve specific business problems or improve existing processes.You evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and validate models to ensure robustness and reliability.You interpret and effectively communicate findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders through reports, presentations and visualizations.You are aware of data privacy regulations and ethical standards when handling sensitive information.
