Job Title : Mainframe Developer

Location : Pune

Job Description :

As a Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of software applications running on mainframe systems. You will work closely with business analysts, system architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into efficient and reliable mainframe applications. Your primary duties will include:

Key Responsibilities :

Application Development :


- Design, code, test, debug, and maintain mainframe applications using languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, or other mainframe-specific languages.

Database Management :


- Develop and maintain database programs, including data access, manipulation, and reporting, utilizing technologies such as DB2, IMS, or VSAM.

System Integration :


- Integrate mainframe applications with other systems and platforms, including web applications, mobile applications, and distributed systems.

Performance Optimization :


- Identify and implement performance improvements to ensure efficient operation of mainframe applications, including optimization of code, database queries, and system configurations.

Quality Assurance :


- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and system testing to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and performance of mainframe applications.

Documentation :


- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, specifications, and user manuals, to facilitate efficient development and maintenance processes.

Collaboration :


- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, system administrators, and quality assurance testers, to deliver high-quality mainframe solutions that meet business requirements.

Troubleshooting and Support :


- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues related to mainframe applications, including investigating and diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
