Job Description

We are looking for a Murex Developer for a Kuala Lumpur based role. You will be a part of a team responsible for the migration journey to Mx.3 in an International financial institution. The role will include incorporating the Bank's report development requirement to cover various user streams such as Front Office, Back Office, Market Risk, Finance and credit risk related end user or interfaces reports.


Key Responsibilities: 
  • Extensive hands-on experience with the Murex GUI, back-end infrastructure, Murex services, Workflow (pre-trade and post-trade), and batch structure are essential.
  • The ideal Murex Reporting and DataMart Developer should need to understand Murex platform setup at the client and the report delivery process.
  • Focus on Murex Datamart/Reporting architecture and development
  • Technical Analysis of changes, effort estimation, solution design, development and unit testing.
  • Work with QA team to ensure timely defect remediation and proper test coverage.
  • End to end ownership of tasks in cooperation with Business Analysts and Testing team.
  • Drive solution design.

Technical Experience: 

  • Understanding of MX reporting architecture, MX data model, MX Datamart configuration
  • Exhaustive knowledge of Datamart objects-dynamic tables, batch of feeders, scanner templates, extractions
  • Murex Technical experience, EOD, CTRM-M, Autosys
  • Analysing DataMart setups/table structures for identifying redundant objects to minimize execution time of batches
  • Experience on Datamart or Accounting/Integration/Back Office.
  • Knowledge of Murex package 3.1 with hands-on knowledge on its core components.
  • Knowledge of trade, deliverable and event life cycles in Murex.
  • Experience with some version of UNIX Linux is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of clusters is highly desirable.
  • RDBMS Database experience e.g. Oracle, Sybase ideally but other DB types are acceptable.
  • Excellent SQL programming skills.
  • UNIX experience necessary; Shell programming experience highly desirable; awk, sed and Perl scripting experience would be a bonus.
  • Experience with at least one reporting tool, preferably Actuate eRD Pro
  • Other programming experience a plus, esp MS Excel VBA
  • Product knowledge (Any one or more, FX mandatory) - FX, IRD, FI, EQD, CRD
  • Familiarity with the functions and structures of XSL, XML, FIX, MXML
  • Familiarity with at least one reporting tool (Actuate, Crystal reports, Micro Strategy), Basic UNIX commands.
  • Should possess an understanding of financial markets.
  • Basic knowledge on financial instruments such as Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives, Currency Derivatives, Swaps, Futures, Options, FRA, etc.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related educational background is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years' experience
  • Deep knowledge of several asset classes. Deep knowledge of Murex MxML framework, with particular focus on MLC interfaces, *MX Front to Back interfaces and MX Trade Capture from Markets
  • Deep knowledge of the MX Workflow configuration
