Job Description :

As an AS400 Developer at our company, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of applications on the AS400 platform. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth functioning and efficiency of our business processes and systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and implement effective solutions using AS400 technology. Experience in IBM iSeries AS-400 development work, RPG and CL Programming,.

Key Responsibilities :

- Designing, coding, testing, and implementing AS400 applications to meet business requirements.

- 5+ years of experience on As400 , COBOL400, SQL400, and Synon.

- Batch and Interactive Debugging Skills, CL400.

- Should have experience working on support and enhancement projects with tight SLAs.

- Will be required to perform an depth impact analysis.

- Performing system analysis and programming tasks to maintain and enhance existing AS400 applications.

- Collaborating with business analysts and end users to gather and document requirements.

- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for AS400 applications and systems.

- Developing and optimizing database structures, stored procedures, and queries using SQL on the AS400 platform.

- Participating in code reviews and performance tuning to ensure high-quality and efficient AS400 applications.

- Integrating AS400 applications with external systems and web services using RPG and Java.

- Creating and maintaining technical documentation for AS400 applications and processes.

- Participating in software development life cycle activities, including requirements analysis, design, and testing.

- Evaluating and recommending new technologies and approaches to improve AS400 application development.

- Monitoring and optimizing system performance and resource utilization on the AS400 platform.

- Ensuring compliance with coding standards, security policies, and best practices in AS400 development.

- Collaborating with team members to identify and resolve technical issues and improve development processes.

- Training and mentoring junior developers on AS400 application development best practices.

- Keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements in AS400 and RPG programming.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience on As400 , COBOL400, SQL400, and Synon.

- Batch and Interactive Debugging Skills, CL400.

- Experience in Database SQL/PLSQL queries

- Experience in IBM iSeries AS-400 development work , RPG and CL Programming.

- Good experience in Microsoft Excel, Pivots, etc., Awareness of ITIL.

- Proven experience as an AS400 Developer or RPG Programmer in a professional setting.

- Strong proficiency in RPG IV and RPG Free format programming on the AS400 platform.

- Proficiency in SQL and database design for AS400 DB2 databases.

- Knowledge of Java programming for AS400 application development.

- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting AS400 applications and systems.

- Familiarity with software development life cycle methodologies and best practices.

- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions on the AS400 platform.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Good understanding of AS400 system architecture, utilities, and tools.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and end users.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

- Certification in AS400 or RPG programming is a plus.

- Knowledge of web services, XML, and JSON for AS400 integration is a plus.

- Understanding of security and compliance considerations in AS400 application development.
