And that’s just the beginning. Job Role The expert level capacity planner must possess a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge in the Mainframe environment. The expert capacity planner has principal responsibilities in managing various mainframe client accounts to ensure optimal processing performance. This individual will also be expected to provide consultation and advisement to other technical principals within the mainframe disciplines. The expert capacity planner is actively engaged in authoring white papers, mentoring senior and other junior planners, and participating as speakers in seminars relating to mainframe capacity and performance. Other functions include identifying and developing critical capacity and performance analytics, developing future demand forecasts and providing recommendations to both Ensono and client on how to achieve the best performance on their mainframe compute environment. Extensive diagnostics and resolution ability contributing to incident root cause analysis. Performance analysis using tools/processes and/or vendor products to increase efficiency through automation and/or standard processes as appropriate. Actively participate in industry trends, products and service offerings, which are relevant to existing and emerging technologies. The planner will also interact with other technologies such as storage, virtual tape, and/or network in supportive of the client compute environment. Job Responsibilities Extensive Mainframe experience (z-series, zos operating system, architecture and design, other peripheral systems supporting and interacting with the mainframe compute environment etc.) Mainframe scripting/programing experience, utilizing JCL and/or other coding languages.  Extensive Statistical and analytical application experience (SAS, MXG, BMC, zpc3000 etc.) Microsoft Office proficiency Manage multiple projects with minimal support and continually shifting priorities. Advise, Consult and Support multiple client environments each having unique requirements and requests. Ability to publicly communicate and present to large audiences, including industry senior technical personnel and/or executive leadership. Weekend support infrequent but possible (1 out of 10 weekends) Support team on-call rotation. KPI identification and definition Developing client forecasting models Proficient in identifying system performance issues Mastery level knowledge and practical comprehension of corporate IT computing processes and methodologies Provides mentoring, technical consultation, training, and knowledge sharing to other associates and organizations. Develop technical strategies for the organization Lead and mentor on high complexity assignments Establish strong relationships with teams and outsource partners through continuous dialogue and support Perform comprehensive impact analysis of system performance parameters on the OS and support subsystems Provide technical expertise for client on-board / out-board activities Define, engineer, and deploy automation solutions for capacity team supported processes Perform Analytic Modeling tools used to right-size solutions Innovation thought leader on emerging technologies and automation solutions Experience Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience Good to Have Skills Understands the competitive Mainframe landscape from both a business and technical perspective (especially capacity and performance) Shift Timing to IST JR Social Share
