Job Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic engineering team at MCPD India. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership abilities, and a passion for driving innovation in building large scale highly available and reliable systems. As an Associate Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for hands-on and overseeing the development and delivery of our MCPD products, ensuring the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development.
Product Development:
Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle of the MCPD products, from concept to deployment.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and roadmaps.
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
Technical Expertise:
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and design.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technologies and incorporate them into the product.
Code, Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize system performance.
Project Management:
Plan and manage engineering projects, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure effective communication and coordination between cross-functional teams.
Quality Assurance:
Maintain excellent code quality and integrate processes to ensure the reliability and scalability of the MCPD products.
Address and resolve any issues or bugs in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
Customer Focus:
Work closely with customer success, product and business teams to understand customer feedback and requirements.
Prioritize and implement features and improvements based on customer needs and market trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (10 to 15 years) in Software Engineering, with at least 2 years in a Leadership or Management role.
Strong technical background in Designing and Architecting large scale solutions for business problems
Proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST API, ORM (e.g., JPA, Hibernate)
Experience with Microservices, Spring Batch, Docker, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, BPM (JBPM) and Spring test, JUnit, Mockito, etc for unit testing .
Also well-versed with DevOps toolchains like Grafana, Prometheus, Jira, Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and SonarQube.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Strong project management skills, with experience in Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
