Position Overview :

As an AWS Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining AWS infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for creating and modifying AWS infrastructure using Python Boto3 and Terraform. Your work will involve developing Python scripts to manage AWS Lambda functions, connect to MS SQL Server, and interact with CloudWatch. You will also be tasked with building monitoring dashboards, executing SQL queries, and managing various AWS resources such as security groups, Network Access Control Lists (NACLs), and S3 buckets. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of our cloud environment, enabling us to maintain high availability and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Infrastructure Modification :

- Develop and manage AWS infrastructure using Python Boto3 to automate tasks such as resource provisioning, configuration, and scaling.

- Write and maintain Python scripts to create and manage AWS Lambda functions that interact with MS SQL Server and integrate with CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting.

Monitoring and Alerts :

- Create Python scripts to capture and process CloudWatch alerts, ensuring timely notifications and responses to system events.

- Develop and manage monitoring dashboards to visualize system performance, availability, and health metrics.

Database Management :

- Write Python scripts to execute queries and perform operations on MS SQL Databases.

- Ensure secure and efficient connectivity to MS SQL Server, implementing best practices for database interactions.

Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :

- Develop and maintain Terraform scripts to provision and manage initial AWS infrastructure.

- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure reproducibility and consistency in deployments.

Resource Management :

- Update and manage AWS security groups, NACLs, S3 pointers, and DNS records (CNAME changes) as needed.

- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices while managing AWS resources.

Secrets Management :

- Implement secure handling of secrets and sensitive data using tools such as AWS Secrets Manager or HashiCorp Vault.

- Incorporate best practices for secrets management into Python scripts and infrastructure deployments.

Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Python Boto3 : Strong experience with Python Boto3 for AWS service interaction and automation.

- AWS Architecture and Administration : Proven expertise in designing, deploying, and managing AWS architecture using Python.

- Terraform : Moderate experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and provisioning AWS resources.

- Database Fundamentals : Knowledge of programmatic database connectivity, particularly with MS SQL Server.

- Secrets Management : Understanding of best practices for handling and managing secrets and sensitive information in scripts.

Experience :

- Experience in AWS infrastructure management and automation.

- Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying Python scripts for AWS services.

- Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure management.

- Practical knowledge of SQL databases and secure connectivity practices.

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or Terraform (e.g., HashiCorp Certified : Terraform Associate).

- Experience with additional cloud platforms or DevOps tools.
