Job brief:
We are looking for “ultra-social, talented and extroverted” community managers to help the company deliver amazing backpacking experiences to global travelers across hotels/hostels in India effectively. He/she will be a part of the Operation team and will be entrusted to effectively curate & operate in-house/outdoor events, community building activities, be hostel buddies to travelers and assist in giving them an excellent experience.

Job overview:
As a community manager at The Hosteller, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie among our diverse group of guests. You will also be responsible for creating an inclusive and engaging environment, organizing activities, and ensuring that every guest has a memorable and enjoyable stay.
Job responsibilities
- Understanding backpacker hostel & its operating model a. Understand hospitality/hotel industry specifically backpacker hostels b. Understand the company's vision, operational standards/model, community engagement, etc.
- Community engagement & networking a. Engage with global backpackers/travelers with local knowledge sharing, assistance acting as their “local buddies” b. Conduct regular community engagement activities in order to build a strong sense of community among hostel guests c. Foster positive interactions and friendships among guests.
- Event planning & coordination a. Organize and coordinate a variety of social events and activities, including game nights, cultural exchanges, city tours and outdoor adventures b. Collaborate with local businesses and partners to create unique experiences for guests c. Facilitate as walk/tour guides to provide a fulfilling experience
- Content creation & communication a. Manage/curate/identify various content creation opportunities for the hostel's social media platforms/website, etc, by keeping an “eye for detail” on travelers b. Facilitate communication among guests through online forums, group chats, and notice boards
- Problem solving a. Address guest concerns/conflicts promptly and effectively maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere b. Collaborate with the hostel management team to ensure a safe and secure environment for all guests .
- Feedback and Improvement a. Gather feedback from guests to continuously improve the hostel's services and activities b. Implement innovative ideas to enhance the guest experience and community engagement
- Reporting and documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or master in hospitality management
- Min. 1 year work experience in event planning/management or service sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for travel, cultural exchange and meeting new people
- Problem-solving abilities
- Creativity and enthusiasm for organizing engaging activities
- Familiarity with social media platforms and online community management
