About UPES DST-iTBI:

The UPES DST-iTBI (Technology Business Incubator) is an initiative under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) designed to foster innovation and support startups in various sectors, including AI-ML, Agri Tech, and Sustainability. The incubator provides resources, mentorship, and funding opportunities to nurture early-stage ventures and promote entrepreneurship.

Job Summary:

The CEO will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and operational management of the UPES DST-iTBI. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in entrepreneurship, innovation management, and a proven track record of supporting startups. The CEO will work closely with stakeholders, including government bodies, educational institutions, and private sector partners, to create a thriving ecosystem for startups.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic vision and mission of UPES DST-iTBI, ensuring alignment with national priorities and industry trends.- Startup Support: Oversee the incubation process, providing guidance and support to startups throughout their development stages.- Funding and Resource Management: Identify and secure funding opportunities from government grants, private investors, and other sources to support the incubator's initiatives and the startups within it.- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, academic institutions, and funding agencies.- Team Management: Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.- Program Development: Design and implement programs, workshops, and events to enhance the skills and capabilities of startups and entrepreneurs.- Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of incubator programs and initiatives, making data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.- Networking and Outreach: Actively represent UPES DST-iTBI at conferences, seminars, and other events to promote its mission and attract potential startups and partners.

Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree (MBA Preferred)- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Startup ecosystem, with a focus on entrepreneurship, business development, or innovation.- Proven track record of successfully managing startup ecosystems, incubators, or accelerators.- Strong understanding of the funding landscape for startups, including grant writing and fundraising.- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a passion for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working with government agencies, academic institutions, and the startup community.- Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in the startup ecosystem, especially in the areas of AI, Agri Tech, and Sustainability.- Knowledge of business incubation best practices and startup growth strategies.
