Sweet Karam Coffee was born in 2015 which is India’s first online traditional food store. It is an Indian clean label food brand offering authentic South Indian delicacies with clean ingredients not using palm oil, preservatives or any artificial ingredients. 


The mission of the brand is to take the taste and tales of South India across the globe. Drawing inspiration from generations past, Sweet Karam Coffee aspires to craft authentic products that glorify & revolutionize our traditional Indian delicacies for today’s consumer needs. 


Down the line it became a bootstrapped Million dollar brand in 2022 and now the brand has received its funding from big investors for the roadmap to become a 500cr brand in next 5 years. The brand has more than 1,00,000+ customers and serves across 32 major countries.


The journey of Sweet Karam Coffee to one of the fastest growing D2C Food Brands is a testimony to zeal towards offering products with a purpose and taking the South Indian cultural and culinary experience to the globe and has empowered an ecosystem of women and farmers who are involved in the manufacturing of these products.

ROLE SUMMARY: 

This role requires a combination of artistic talent, creativity, and technical skills in illustration and graphic design. The Packaging Illustrator collaborates closely with marketing, product development, and packaging engineering teams to deliver high-quality packaging solutions.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Packaging Design:
  • Create original illustrations and graphic designs for product packaging, ensuring they are visually compelling and market-appropriate.
  • Develop and refine packaging concepts from initial sketches to final production-ready designs.
  • Ensure that packaging designs adhere to brand guidelines and convey the intended message and product benefits.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product development, marketing, and packaging engineering teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, such as printers and packaging suppliers, to ensure designs are produced accurately and cost-effectively.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative input to develop innovative packaging solutions.
  • Technical Execution:
  • Prepare detailed artwork and production files, including dielines, color specifications, and print-ready files.
  • Ensure that all packaging designs are technically accurate and meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve proofs from printers and other suppliers to ensure high-quality output.
  • Trend Analysis:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor packaging, and new materials/technologies to incorporate innovative elements into packaging designs.
  • Conduct market research and analyze consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage multiple packaging design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines.
  • Maintain organized records of all design assets and project documentation.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct quality checks on final packaging to ensure design integrity and consistency across different production batches.
  • Address any design-related issues that arise during the production process and make necessary adjustments.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an illustrator or packaging designer, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of packaging illustrations and designs.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and other relevant tools.
  • Knowledge of printing processes, packaging materials, and production techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
