Job Title : Devops Engineer

Role Summary :
DevOps engineering role involves leading and executing the implementation of DevOps practices within an organization.
Responsibilities include designing and architecting scalable infrastructure, developing CI/CD pipelines, automating tasks and processes, ensuring monitoring and security measures, optimizing performance and scalability, fostering collaboration, mentoring junior team members, and staying current with industry trends.
Overall, DevOps engineers play a crucial role in driving efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement in product delivery through the adoption of DevOps principles and practices.
What will you do?
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and highly available infrastructure solutions using on prem datacentres and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OCI or Google Cloud.
- This includes designing architectures that are resilient, secure, and cost-effective.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
- This involves selecting and configuring appropriate tools and technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
- Automate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- They also utilize configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
- Additionally, they orchestrate containerized applications using tools like Kubernetes.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the health, performance, and availability of applications and infrastructure.
- This involves setting up tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Datadog.
- Work closely with security teams to implement best practices for security, compliance, and risk management.
- They ensure that security measures are integrated into every aspect of the development and deployment process, including infrastructure configuration, code deployment, and access control.
- Optimize the performance and scalability of applications and infrastructure by identifying bottlenecks, tuning configurations, and implementing performance monitoring and optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, and QA to drive DevOps adoption and best practices within the organization.
- They mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and technologies in DevOps, cloud computing, automation, and software development methodologies.
- They evaluate new technologies and tools to assess their suitability for the organization's needs.
What is expected from an individual?
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in DevOps or related roles, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex infrastructure solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with on-prem datacentres and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OCI or Google Cloud.
- Experience with version control systems (e., Git) and CI/CD tools (e., Jenkins, CircleCI).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
