Position Title: RF / Avionics Engineer – UAV SystemsLocation: Mhow, Indore, IndiaJob Type: Full-TimeDepartment: R&D – Avionics & Communication SystemsExperience Level: Minimum 2 years (UAV / Robotics / Aerospace preferred)Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and validate RF and Avionics systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) — including transmitters, receivers, antennas, and RF front-end modules.- Develop high-speed communication interfaces such as Ethernet, LVDS, MIPI, and SpaceWire for drone data and telemetry systems.- Integrate and test flight control systems (PX4 / ArduPilot) with onboard compute modules (Jetson Orin, Raspberry Pi, etc.) ensuring seamless communication and latency optimization.- Design custom RF PCBs for telemetry, control, and payload links, ensuring signal integrity, safety, manufacturability, and compliance with RF emission standards.- Develop and optimize DSP / embedded firmware for RF signal processing, modulation/demodulation, and link reliability.- Collaborate with Electrical, Software, and Mechanical teams for end-to-end avionics integration, including power, telemetry, and sensor fusion modules.- Conduct RF testing and validation using spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and field signal strength tools.- Ensure compliance with FCC, CE, WPC, and MIL-STD EMI/EMC standards for airworthiness and export safety.- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, simulation logs, test reports, and compliance checklists.- Perform field validation, regression, and stress testing of embedded avionics systems.Required Skills & Qualifications- B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Aerospace, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Embedded Systems.- 2+ years hands-on experience in RF design, avionics integration, or embedded firmware (preferably in UAVs or aerospace systems).- Proficiency in Altium / KiCad with strong PCB rule, stack-up, and constraint management for RF layouts.- Experience with DSP / Embedded C / C++, microcontrollers (STM32 / ESP32), and FPGA/MCU platforms.- Familiarity with communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, MAVLink).- Hands-on experience with RF instruments — spectrum analyzers, VNAs, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, and protocol analyzers.- Experience developing automated test scripts using Python or Embedded C for signal or telemetry validation.- Strong understanding of antenna types, placement, and radiation constraints for airborne platforms.- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and documentation skills in both lab and field environments.Preferred (Bonus) Skills- Familiarity with radar, telemetry, SDR (Software Defined Radio), or MIMO systems.- Experience with RF simulation tools (CST, HFSS, ADS, or similar).- Prior work on defense-grade or iDEX/DRDO UAV systems.- Understanding of secure data links, frequency hopping, and encryption methods for tactical communications.Benefits- Work on next-generation UAV communication and avionics systems shaping the future of Indian defense technology.- Competitive salary and performance-linked incentives.- Access to cutting-edge test labs and DRDO/iDEX-grade projects.- Fast-paced, collaborative R&D culture with real flight-testing exposure.
