Detailed Job Description:

Cogency Inc. is seeking a seasoned AS400 Developer with a solid background in IBM iSeries AS-400 development and Telecom domain projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in RPG and CL programming, as well as strong skills in database SQL/PLSQL queries. The role involves supporting business-critical applications, leading a team, and ensuring smooth provisioning and billing processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain AS400 applications using RPG and CL programming.
  • Utilize MDS CMP for efficient system management.
  • Execute SQL and PL/SQL queries for database management and reporting.
  • Oversee provisioning and billing systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Create and manage complex spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivots and advanced formulas.
  • Provide business-critical application support, troubleshooting issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Apply ITIL best practices for IT service management.
  • Maintain a flexible working approach to adapt to changing project needs and deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IBM iSeries AS-400 development and Telecom BSS/OSS projects.
  • Strong proficiency in RPG and CL programming languages.
  • Advanced skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and database management.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivots and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Matrix and Unix/Shell scripting is a plus.
