This role plays a critical part in supporting our business operations and data-driven decision-making.ResponsibilitiesDatabase Design and Optimization: Design, implement, and optimize database structures, schemas, and tables to meet business requirements.Data Security: Implement security measures, including access controls, encryption, and user authentication, to protect sensitive data.Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and optimize database resources.Data Migration and Upgrades: Plan and execute database migrations, updates, and version upgrades as needed.User Management: Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions within the database system.Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve database system issues and discrepancies promptly.SQL Query Optimization: Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.Vendor and Service Provider Management: Collaborate with database software vendors and service providers to ensure effective delivery of database services.Qualifications we seek in youMinimum Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in IS, Computer Science, MIS Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.· Relevant certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or equivalent, are preferred.· Excellent Communication and interpersonal SkillsPreferred Qualifications/ SkillsProven experience as an IT Network Engineer with hands-on experience in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.Proven experience as an IT Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on experience in database administration and management.

Strong knowledge of database systems, including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or others.Proficiency in database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of database best practices and emerging technologies.Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus
