Job Title : Head of Engineering

Department : Engineering

Reports To : Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary :

The Head of Engineering will lead our engineering department and provide technical leadership and strategic direction. This role includes overseeing the development and delivering high-quality software products, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities :

- Lead the engineering team in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications aligned with business priorities.

- Facilitate communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential clients.

- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

- Advocate for and implement agile practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

- Manage the engineering budget, optimizing resource allocation and technological investments.

- Oversee recruitment and development of engineering talent, ensuring alignment with budgetary and organizational goals.

- Cultivate an engineering culture that values empowerment and technical excellence.

- Uphold coding, documentation, and testing best practices.

- Maintain accountability for the development process, product quality, and performance :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 8-12 years of relevant industry experience.

- 4-5 years in a management role.

- Adaptable thinker with the capacity to address challenges innovatively.

- Proven record in leading high-performance teams.

- In-depth understanding of industry trends and technological advancements.

- Skilled in architecture validation and high-level design.

- Proficiency in backend development with Java, MySQL, and Hibernate.

- Experience in REST API development, testing, and monitoring.

- DevOps mindset with familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools.

- Expertise in cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.

- Ensure compliance of non-functional attributes (stability, security, availability, performance, etc. ) of the product to internal standards.
