Job Overview We are seeking a sharp and curious Data Engineer to join our team and drive data-backed decision- making across our cannabis supply chain. This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of operations and analytics, and who’s excited to work with a fast-moving, highly regulated product category.As our Data Engineer, you’ll dig into warehouse movements, deliveries, product velocity, inventory levels, and sales trends to uncover insights and help us optimize performance. You'll work closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Retail Ops, and Tech teams — leveraging tools like Amazon Redshift and Metabase to unlock the power of our data. Roles and Responsibilities ● Analyze cannabis supply chain and operations data across warehouses, retail locations, and delivery zones. ● Build dashboards and visualizations in Metabase to track KPIs like stock movement, shrink, velocity, and order fulfillment rates. ● Write complex SQL queries in Redshift to support deep-dive analytics, ad hoc reporting, and recurring metric updates. ● Partner with stakeholders in Logistics, Inventory Management, and Finance to answer business-critical questions. ● Monitor and QA data pipelines to ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting. ● Assist with forecasting, vendor analysis, and SKU performance evaluations. ● Recommend improvements in logistics, inventory, or sales processes based on your findings. Skills and Abilities ● 2 - 4+ years in an analytical role (ideally in supply chain, logistics, or operations). ● Proficiency in SQL and working with cloud data warehouses (Redshift preferred). ● Experience with Metabase or similar BI tools (e.G., Looker, Tableau). ● Understanding of cannabis-specific compliance, distribution, and inventory workflows is a major plus. ● Strong business acumen and an instinct for uncovering what matters in messy data. ● Ability to clearly communicate technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. ● Familiarity with cannabis seed-to-sale platforms (e.G., Metrc, BioTrack, LeafLink). ● Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.G., dbt, Fivetran). ● Some knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics or automation. ● Past work optimizing delivery networks or last-mile logistics. Work Timings: Monday- Friday Saturday, Sunday fixed off.
