Department: Tool Room / Production   Reports To: Tool Room Supervisor / Production Manager Experience: 3 – 6 years (preferably in Medical Devices or Precision Engineering Industry) Job Summary: The Tool & Cutter Grinder Operator will be responsible for the precision grinding, sharpening, and maintenance of cutting tools, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing of medical device components. The role demands high accuracy, excellent knowledge of tool geometries, and adherence to stringent quality and regulatory standards (ISO 13485). Requirements Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate Tool & Cutter Grinding machines (CNC or manual) to manufacture and sharpen cutting tools such as end mills, drills, reamers, and form tools. Interpret engineering drawings, tool design blueprints, and specifications to determine grinding requirements. Perform precision grinding operations ensuring dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and tool geometry within tight tolerances. Inspect finished tools using measuring instruments (profile projector, micrometers, gauges, tool presetter, etc.). Maintain tool inventory, sharpening records, and calibration documentation in compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams for tool performance optimization and troubleshooting . Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure the cleanliness of machines and work area. Adhere to all GMP, ISO 13485, and safety protocols relevant to medical device manufacturing. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool life, accuracy, and efficiency. Benefits Qualifications and Skills: ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical, or equivalent discipline. 3 – 6 years of experience as a Tool & Cutter Grinder in Medical Devices, Aerospace, or Precision Component Manufacturing industries. Strong understanding of tool geometries, grinding wheel selection, speeds and feeds, and coolant usage . Hands-on experience with CNC Tool Grinder machines (e.g., ANCA, Walter, or equivalent) will be an added advantage. Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality inspection techniques . Familiar with ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 quality systems. Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. Basic computer literacy (for job documentation and record keeping).
