Quality Engineer – Control system

Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for control system design, integration, and commissioning.Review engineering documentation, control logic, system architecture, and software configurations for compliance with standards.Conduct risk assessments, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and reliability studies for control system components.Plan and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and validation protocols.Establish and enforce quality KPIs, inspection checklists, and test procedures for PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and safety instrumented systems.Audit suppliers, integrators, and contractors to ensure adherence to quality requirements.Manage nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Support configuration management, version control, and documentation accuracy for automation software and hardware.Collaborate with design, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure robust lifecycle quality governance.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISA standards, and relevant regulatory frameworks.Train engineering and project teams on control system quality practices.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or related engineering discipline.3–5 years of experience in control system engineering, quality assurance, or automation project execution.Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and industrial communication protocols.Experience with ISO, IEC, or ISA quality and safety standards is preferable but not mandatory.Proficiency in root cause analysis, risk assessments, and quality tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA, or SPC.Hands-on experience in FAT, SAT, and system commissioning.Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Knowledge & Skills:Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or ISO 9001:2015.Experience in regulated industries such as oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, energy, or manufacturing.Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for control systems (IEC 62443, NIST).Quality management in control and automation projects.System testing and validation.Problem-solving and root cause analysis.Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards.Collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
